Buakaw, Legendary Muay Thai Champion, Debuts with BKFC Saturday

This weekend watch the athlete regarded as the best Thai kickboxer ever make his debut at Bare Knuckle Fight Championship Thailand 3; The event from the fastest growing combat sport – recently acquired by Triller – is live from Bangkok on FITE!

Buakaw Banchamek headlines BKFC Thailand 3 at Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok on Saturday, September 3rd. It is the legendary Muay Thai champion's first ever bare knuckle fight (he has also never known to have competed in Lethwei – South Asia's closest equivalent to bare knuckle combat). Rajadamnern Stadium is considered the Mecca of Thai combat sports.

Buakaw's titles are hard to summarize: He is a former two time Omnoi Stadium Champion, Lumpinee Stadium Toyota Marathon Champion, former #1 ranked fighter in Lumpinee Stadium, Thailand Featherweight Champion, two time K-1 World MAX champ and 2011 & 2012 Thai Fight Tournament Champion. His kickboxing/Muay Thai record stands at 240 wins (73 by KO), 24 losses and 12 draws.

"This is the perfect timing for me to extend my boxing and fighting skills after being experienced for over 30 years in Muay Thai," Buakaw told MMA Junkie. "Also, BKFC is a global standard, which is good for fighters to take the opportunity. I think if you win in this platform, it will be proof of your own world-class skill."

He'll fight Turkish kickboxer Erkan Varol, who brings an impressive 88-33 kickboxing record into his bare-knuckle boxing debut.

BKFC was recently acquired by Triller and has become the go-to promotion for fighters wanting to test themselves at something even tougher than most mainstream fight sports – including MMA stars like Mike Perry, Paige VanZant, and Chad Mendes.
