Bruma began his football journey in Bissau, then moved to Portugal and joined Sporting CP's youth academy, where he wowed with over 80 goals in his time there. He made his senior debut in 2012 with Sporting’s B team and soon rose to the first team, scoring his maiden Primeira Liga goal in early 2013.
Later in 2013, he transferred to Galatasaray and won league and cup titles while making his first Champions League appearances. After loan spells at Real Sociedad, Bruma joined RB Leipzig in 2017 and gained Bundesliga experience before signing with PSV Eindhoven in 2019. He became a key attacking option and earned Eredivisie Player of the Month honors.
In the 2020–21 season, Bruma went on loan to Olympiacos, winning the Greek Super League, and later joined Fenerbahçe, before moving to Braga on loan in 2023—where his strong performances secured him a permanent transfer. In February 2025, he signed with Benfica, scoring on his first start and immediately impacting their Championship run.
International Career
Bruma represented Portugal at all youth levels before earning his senior debut. As of 2025, he has 12 caps and 2 goals for the Portugal national team, continuing to make his mark on the international stage.
