Pepê began his football journey in Brazil, developing his skills in local youth teams before joining Foz do Iguaçu and later moving to Coritiba’s academy. His professional breakthrough came with Grêmio, where he became known for his pace, dribbling, and attacking versatility.
At Grêmio, Pepê made over 140 appearances and scored more than 30 goals, helping the club win the Campeonato Gaúcho multiple times and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2018. His performances attracted interest from Europe, and in February 2021, FC Porto announced his signing for a reported €15 million.
Since arriving in Portugal, Pepê has become a vital figure for Porto, playing across the front line and in creative midfield roles. He helped the team secure Primeira Liga and Taça de Portugal titles, earning praise for his technical ability, work rate, and adaptability.
International Career
Eligible for the Brazilian national team, Pepê received call-ups at youth level and made his senior debut for Brazil in 2021. While his international appearances have been limited so far, his consistent club performances keep him in contention for future selections.
Playing Style
Pepê is a quick, skillful, and intelligent attacker who can operate on either wing or as a second striker. Left-footed but comfortable with both feet, he thrives in one-on-one situations, uses sharp changes of direction to beat defenders, and has an eye for incisive through balls. His high work rate also makes him effective in pressing systems, tracking back to support the defense when needed.
