Syed Imad Wasim is a Pakistani international cricketer and bowling all-rounder. He is a left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox bowler, known for his economical bowling and ability to contribute useful runs in the lower order. Wasim has represented Pakistan internationally and has played in numerous T20 leagues around the world.
Imad Wasim made his T20I debut for Pakistan on 24 May 2015 against Zimbabwe, followed by his ODI debut on 19 July 2015 against Sri Lanka. He quickly became a regular limited-overs player for Pakistan as a bowling all-rounder.
In 2016, he became the first Pakistani spinner to take a five-wicket haul in T20 Internationals, with figures of 5/14 against the West Indies. He was also part of Pakistan’s 2017 ICC Champions Trophy-winning team, contributing as an all-rounder.
He briefly captained Pakistan in ODIs in 2019 and performed well in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, contributing with both bat and ball.
Wasim announced his retirement from international cricket in November 2023, returned briefly for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, and then retired again from international cricket in December 2024.
He has also achieved the rare feat of being the only bowler to take a five-wicket haul in a Pakistan Super League final.
