Ishan Kishan is an Indian international cricketer and dynamic left-handed wicket-keeper–batter. Known for his aggressive strokeplay and rapid scoring ability, Kishan combines power hitting with effective glovework behind the stumps. A key member of India’s limited-overs batting order, he has also contributed in Tests and remains a prominent figure in domestic and franchise T20 cricket.
Kishan made his T20I debut for India on 14 March 2021 against England, marking the occasion with a brisk 56 off 32 balls and earning the player of the match award. He followed it shortly with his ODI debut on 18 July 2021 versus Sri Lanka. Over the years, he has been selected for major ICC events and played across formats for India’s national side.
A career highlight came in December 2022 during India’s tour of Bangladesh, where Kishan scored an ODI double century (210 runs off 131 balls), becoming the youngest and fastest player to reach 200 in an ODI, and the first to convert a maiden hundred into a double century.
In the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Kishan posted influential innings, including a 77-run knock against Pakistan that helped India secure victory in a high-profile encounter.
Kishan began his domestic career with Jharkhand, producing standout performances in the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, including a monumental 273-run innings against Delhi in the 2016-17 season.
In franchise cricket, he debuted in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Gujarat Lions in 2016 before moving to Mumbai Indians in 2018, where he was a key contributor, notably scoring 516 runs in the 2020 season. He was retained by Mumbai for multiple seasons before being purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2025 IPL, where he scored his first IPL century.
In 2025, Kishan also signed a short-term contract with Nottinghamshire in English county cricket, scoring a noteworthy 87 on his debut.
