Morten Hjulmand
Morten Hjulmand honed his early football development at FC Copenhagen's youth academy before moving to Admira Wacker in Austria in 2018. He quickly established himself as a starter, making 68 league appearances and scoring once.
In January 2021, he transferred to Lecce in Italy’s Serie B. A pivotal player in midfield, he helped Lecce win promotion to Serie A in the 2021–22 season and became the club’s youngest captain in Serie A history. During his time with Lecce, he accumulated 91 league appearances and remained a central figure in the midfield.
August 2023 saw Hjulmand sign a five-year deal with Sporting CP, with a transfer fee around €18 million. His debut goals and commanding presence in midfield helped Sporting clinch back-to-back Primeira Liga titles in 2023–24 and 2024–25, plus the Taça de Portugal in 2025. His impact was further recognized by consecutive inclusions in the league’s Best XI.
International Career
Hjulmand represented Denmark at youth levels before breaking into the senior team in September 2023. He marked his international breakthrough by scoring his first goal—a crucial equalizer—against England during UEFA Euro 2024. As of mid-2025, he has earned 19 caps and scored once for the national side.
