Ricardo Horta began his youth career at Benfica’s academy, before moving to Vitória de Setúbal, where he made his professional debut in 2013. His performances caught the eye of Málaga CF, signing in 2014 and gaining valuable La Liga experience.
In 2016, Horta joined S.C. Braga on loan before making the move permanent in 2017. Since then, he has become the club’s all-time leading scorer, exceeding 100 goals in over 400 appearances. Horta has helped Braga lift the Taça da Liga (2020, 2024) and the Taça de Portugal (2021). As club captain from 2021, he delivered the winning goal in the 2020 Taça da Liga final and has consistently ranked among the Primeira Liga’s most prolific wingers.
International Career
Horta represented Portugal across youth levels before earning his senior debut in 2014. He featured prominently during the 2015 U21 European Championship and was part of the squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring his first international goal in the tournament.
