UIM F1H2O World Championship 2025 – Grand Prix of Jeddah: Full Highlights
The UIM F1H2O World Championship made history as the tour arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for the first time, delivering a thrilling Round 4 showdown on the shores of the Red Sea. Against the backdrop of Jeddah's futuristic skyline and UNESCO-listed Al-Balad district, a packed weekend of qualifying, sprint races, and the Grand Prix finale unfolded in spectacular fashion.
Coming off the chaos of Round 3 in Zhengzhou, where Alec Weckström claimed his maiden win and seized the championship lead, tension was high entering Jeddah. Victory Team's Shaun Torrente, a three-time world champion, struck early by securing pole position-his first in over two years-while defending champion Jonas Andersson survived a dramatic qualifying flip to start near the front.
Sprint races delivered fireworks. Torrente dominated Sprint 1, while Andersson stormed back to take Sprint 2 after his team rebuilt his boat in record time. Rising talents including Stefan Arand, Bartek Marszałek, and rookie Stefan Hagin produced standout performances that reshaped the grid and championship picture.
Race day brought maximum drama. Torrente launched cleanly off pole and controlled the race from start to finish, surviving multiple restarts and intense pressure from behind. Andersson delivered a courageous recovery drive to secure second, while Marszałek fought his way to a hard-earned podium in third. Mechanical heartbreak struck championship leader Weckström, forcing him to salvage minimal points from deep in the pack.
With his Jeddah victory, Shaun Torrente now leads the championship by 14 points over Andersson, setting up an electrifying showdown at the season finale in Sharjah.
The battle for the 2025 UIM F1H2O World Championship is far from over - Sharjah awaits for the ultimate decider.
