he 2025 UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship kicked off in Balige, on the shores of Lake Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Over five days, the world's best riders competed in Runabout and Freestyle categories, transforming the volcanic lake into a stage of high-speed drama and breathtaking stunts.
Highlights included:
Runabout: Intense battles among Samuel Johansson (Sweden), François Medori (France), and Jeremy Perez (France). Medori claimed victories in both motos, securing the overall Grand Prix win, with Johansson second and Perez third.
Freestyle: Roberto Mariani (Italy) impressed with a daring routine to take first place, followed by Massimo Accumulo (Italy), Rashid Al Mulla (UAE), and Paulo Nunes (Portugal).
The event also unveiled a new Aquabike logo, a redesigned technical circuit, and drew huge enthusiastic crowds, solidifying Lake Toba as a premier venue for world-class water sports.
