WDSC Park City Highlights - Utah Olympic Park
The World Downhill Skateboarding Championships roared into Park City as the Wasatch Mountains framed Round 4 at Utah Olympic Park. Riders attacked the Olympic Bobsled Track access road-a wide, twisting descent with four sharp hairpins, a relentless 9% gradient, and top speeds over 80 km/h. A chairlift reset turned every run into a rapid-fire sprint, while a record 160 athletes and new tour sponsor Ohio Wheels underscored the sport's surge in global popularity. This stop delivered wall-to-wall action across Open Street Luge and the Women's categories.
Women's Stand-Up Skateboarding Eight riders from six countries took on one of the season's toughest courses. Switzerland's Selina Theiler set the tone in the semis and then executed flawlessly in the final-clean lines through the hairpins, strong exit speed, no mistakes. Ashley Winecoff (USA) powered from the back to claim second with a decisive inside pass, and Sabrina Ambrosi (Argentina) rounded out the podium. With her win, Theiler clinched the Women's Open Stand-Up Skateboarding World Championship (200 pts), ahead of Winecoff (152) and Ambrosi (134).
Women's Street Luge Canada's Tatyana Hill won a dramatic, slippery final, managing the patchy grip and late-race pressure to take the checkered flag. The season crown, however, went to France's Loreline Pastor, whose consistency across rounds secured the Women's Street Luge World Championship with 175 points. Mora Jakubic finished second in the standings (152), with Kim Marie Hilger third (128).
Open Street Luge Quarterfinals and semis delivered photo-finishes and fearless passes. In the final, Abdil Mahdzan launched perfectly and controlled the race until the last corner, when a slide opened the door. Andy Lally stayed glued to the draft, carved the inside of the final turn, and nipped Mahdzan at the line for a sensational Park City victory. The title fight now heads to the finale with Mahdzan leading the Open Street Luge standings at 286 points, Ulrich Becker close behind on 261, and defending champion Kolby Parks on 227.
From record entries to razor-thin margins, Park City delivered everything: speed, precision, and high-stakes championship drama. Next stop: El Salvador-where the 2025 World Downhill Skateboarding Championships will crown its champions.
