In a 12-round battle on Cinco de Mayo weekend, two-division world champion and Pay-Per-View superstar Canelo Álvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) takes on former WBC World Middleweight Champion and countryman Julio César Chávez, Jr. (50-2-1, 32 KOs).

Presented by Golden Boy Promotions in an HBO-televised Pay-Per-View, Canelo vs. Chavez, Jr will also broadcast online on Golden Boy boxing and Flipps to viewers in US and Canada available on LIVE iPPV.

The event will be available to watch online at FITE in English and Spanish with live commentary in both languages provided by boxing pundits whose names are yet to be revealed. Flipps viewers can access both live streams with just one order.

The event referred to as the Mexico vs Mexico mega fight meets two of Mexico's finest boxers Canelo Álvarez and Julio César Chávez, Jr. in a historic showdown that will rival the biggest fights in Mexico's rich boxing history.

Boxing superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez makes his return to the ring since Sept. 17 2016 when he knocked out the previously undefeated WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith in front of more than 51,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium. With a left hand hook to the liver, Canelo finished off Smith at 2:28 of the ninth round, taking home the WBO belt.

Canelo will be etching his name at the top of the list of legendary fighters to represent Mexico, testing his legacy against the bloodline of boxing's royalty, Julio César Chávez, Jr. on May 6, 2017 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Former four-time WBC World Middleweight Champion Julio César Chávez, Jr. has proven that he is worthy of carrying the legacy he inherited by his father, living legend and six time world champion Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.
Combatting some of the most highly regarded fighters in boxing such as Marcos Reye, Brian Vera, Marco Antonio Rubio, and Matt Vanda to only name a few.

In his most recent performance, Chávez, Jr. met with highly regarded Dominik Britsch, winning the bout via unanimous decision with scores of 99-91, 99-91 and 99-91at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
