The ground-breaking inaugural season of the EUT20 Belgium moves into a massive cross-provincial showdown at the Stars Arena as JB Bruges battle the star-studded Liège Red Lions in Match 5.

Sanctioned by the Belgian Cricket Federation to officially professionalize short-format cricket in mainland Europe, the league has generated huge international interest. For Wayne Parnell's Bruges side, this fixture is an immediate must-win after falling short in a rain-affected, DLS-adjusted opening match against Brussels. Meanwhile, Herschelle Gibbs' highly destructive Liège side steps back onto the turf eager to secure their first outright points of the summer after a washout against Ghent on opening day.

JB Bruges: Looking for Tactical CalibrationDespite a half-century from opening wicketkeeper-batsman Lahiru Milantha (51 off 35 balls) in the opener, Bruges' middle order couldn't quite accelerate fast enough to withstand Brussels' chasing tempo. Under the sharp technical guidance of head coach and West Indies icon Shivnarine Chanderpaul, their game plan relies on setting an immovable baseline at the crease.

The top-order engine room features the explosive clearing power of New Zealand international Colin Munro and the world-class, soft-handed accumulation of South African master Rassie van der Dussen.
