The queen stage of Asia's premier cycling tour! The Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026 reaches its ultimate high-altitude climax on Stage 4, spanning 142.3 km from Bandar Meru Raya to Cameron Highlands.
Starting from Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah in Ipoh, the international peloton powers past Gopeng, Kampar, and Tapah before confronting the relentless, world-famous Hors Catégorie (HC) mountain climb up to Tanah Rata. Soaring to an elevation of 1,451 meters, this summit finish is widely expected to crown the overall champion of the 30th edition.
Stage Dynamics & Tactical Breakdown Flat Opening Sprint Valley: The first 87 km from Meru Raya to Tapah offer flat, fast running roads. Expect rapid breakaway attempts and intense green-jersey points battles across all three intermediate sprints.
The HC Brutal Ascent: Starting at the 89.1 km mark in Tapah (Elevation: 62m), riders endure over 53 km of continuous uphill climbing into the Cameron Highlands. Narrow mountain roads, hairpin turns, and elevation exhaustion will tear the main field apart.
General Classification Decider: As an HC Summit Finish, the 3 km sprint safety rule does NOT apply. The time gaps created at Tanah Rata will dictate who takes home the Orange Jersey.
