UIM-ABP Aquabike Endurance World Championship 2025: Highlights
UIM-ABP Aquabike Endurance World Championship – Lake Toba Highlights Set on spectacular Lake Toba, Sumatra, Indonesia-a vast volcanic caldera rimmed by Batak villages-the Endurance World Championship returned for a third year with its most dramatic chapter yet. The lakeside town of Balige hosted three days of 40-minute motos on a shore-hugging course, giving packed crowds a front-row view as 22 riders from 8 nations battled for points and glory.
Early storylines swung wildly: Portugal's Lino Araújo snatched the opening moto, Hungary's György Kasza showed race-winning pace before mechanical heartbreak, and rising American Jay Finlinson surged onto the podium. Kiwi star Kylie Ellmers delivered a powerhouse charge on the final day, while Spain's Adrian Fernandez fought to the front with precision.
But the weekend belonged to Indonesia's teenage sensation Boanerges "Eges" Ratag. Roared on by a home crowd, Ratag mastered the chop, conserved fuel, and seized decisive late passes to clinch the overall-a historic world title on home waters. Finlinson secured 2nd overall, and veteran American Anthony Radetic sealed 3rd with relentless consistency.
From volcanic scenery to endurance grit, Lake Toba delivered peak aquabike action-speed, strategy, and a hometown champion crowned.
