Lisbon will host an unforgettable evening of football as the Portugal Legends face off against the World Legends in the Legends Charity Game 2025. This annual event celebrates Portugal's rich footballing heritage while uniting some of the sport's most iconic players in a match that blends star-studded action with a family-friendly atmosphere.
The fixture is more than just a game-it's a mission. Proceeds will go toward major charities dedicated to supporting families in need, including the Ukrainian Red Cross, Portuguese Red Cross, International Alert, and Caritas Portugal.
The World Legends squad boasts global icons such as Peter Schmeichel, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Javier Zanetti, Gheorghe Hagi, Henrik Larsson, Peter Schmeichel, Edwin van der Sar, Petr Cech, Roberto Carlos, Carlos Pyuol, John Terry, Cafu, Javier Zanetti, Marco Materrazi, Marek Hamsik, Krassimir Balakov, Gheorghe Hagi, Henrik Larsson, Michael Owen, Del Piero, Hristo Stoichkov, Kaka, alongside many other international greats.
Representing the host nation, the Portugal Legends, in association with the FPF – Federação Portuguesa de Futebol, bring together an all-star lineup captained by Luís Figo. The team features heroes from the triumphant Euro 2016 squad including Nani, Ricardo Quaresma, Pepe, Bruno Alves, Ricardo Carvalho, and Eliseu, alongside legends such as Deco, Pauleta, Vítor Baía, José Bosingwa, Maniche, Nuno Gomes, and Simão. They will be led from the dugout by Champions League winner Costinha.
Planned as an annual celebration in the build-up to Portugal co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the Legends Charity Game is set to become a tradition where football's past meets its future-delivering unforgettable memories while making a difference for those who need it most.
